Fairview Youth Group’s mission is to partner with parents to provide a safe environment where the Youth of the church and the community will:
- Hear the hope of the Gospel through Jesus Christ
- Be challenged to grow in their faith through Bible studies and Mission opportunities
- Foster fellowship through fun activities, games, and monthly group building events
Mark and Naomi Oosting are the Youth Directors and are life-long members of Fairview Church. They have 3 children who are attending Beaver County Christian School. Mark graduated from Geneva College with a Masters in Business. Naomi graduated from Covenant College with a Sociology Degree and a minor in Youth Ministry. Mark believes it’s his purpose in life to find the strangest, most disgusting, fun games to “share” with the Youth. Naomi’s goal is to restrain Mark’s games and build relationships within the group.
We are supported by our Youth Leaders: Rosh Raines who has graduated with a degree in Theatre from Belhaven College and is an actor/director. Sarrah Masters, Charlie Noyes, and Greg Mead are currently attending Geneva College. All of us love the Lord and teenagers and are committed to sharing that love and hope that’s found in Jesus Christ to the Youth.
Our group is made up of Junior High (entering 6th Grade) and Senior High Youth from the church and the community. They love spending time together and just hanging out. As mentioned before, we meet weekly on Wednesday nights for Bible study called “the Rock” and we also do one big event per month. The Big Events are opportunities for the Youth to invite their friends who have never been to Youth Group to an activity such as going to a Pirates Game, Miniature Golfing, Kennywood, SandCastle, a New Year’s Eve Bowling Party, or having a movie night at the church with a game of Survivor!
Every year, our Youth spend a week at Summer Camp along with the Youth from the other PCA churches in the area. This week is packed full of fun activities, a challenging speaker, and praise and worship. It’s a time where we can get away from the craziness of the world and as Psalms 46:10 says: “Be still, and know that I am God.” Click here for more information or to register for Super Summer Break.
Every winter, our Youth also attend a weekend retreat called Snow Camp. We leave Friday night and come home Sunday afternoon. The retreat is normally over Super Bowl Weekend and we once again “rough it” out at Seneca Hills Bible Conference Center in Franklin, PA. Click here for more information or to register for Snow Camp.
